Prue Mansfield expresses her artistic voice through manipulating textile, fibre and thread, often found, into works where the layering is significant in both meaning and method. This is her right of reply to being shaped by social structures and the physical world. The reclaiming of women’s skills and work is prominent, referencing the transformation of her own traditional domestic sewing skills.
