Jacinta Maude

House Me, 2020

Found objects from the artist's home, five Polaroid images, duct tape, watercolour paint, dimensions variable

House Me is the artist’s response to the COVID pandemic. The restrictions of stage four lock-down inspired Maude to investigate spaces within her family home and objects within those spaces - exposing routine household activities that go unnoticed.

Jacinta Maude’s practice encompasses painting, photography and the moving image, which she combines to explore the artistic in the laborious. Basic materials of domestic and the ready-made - very often personal objects - are used in her work.  Sometimes Maude captures her mundane activities on video, which she projects or places within her sculptures.
